Technology and Innovation on the health and care agenda

Looking towards Viborg for future investment opportunities and co-operation, you will meet a public health and care sector that is used to co-operating with businesses and ready to be part of the development of relevant welfare technological products and solutions. You will also meet a business support service that understands the sector and talks the language of both businesses and public institutions.

In 2017, Viborg Municipality, the regional hospital and the local business community teamed up and established Test and Development Centre for Welfare Technology to further the development and market introduction of solutions and products that address the challenges and needs experienced by the Danish health and care sector. Here, cocreation between the public sector, businesses and citizens is seen as a determining factor when it comes to ensuring that products and solutions are sector relevant and will result in a better quality of life for citizens or patients or have a positive effect on the health and safety of employees.

Being co-located with Business Viborg, Test and Development Centre for Welfare Technology is an integral part of Viborg’s business support, business development and start-up environment. In summer 2021, the centre will together with Business Viborg move into the brand-new House of Industry – Viborg’s new hub for technical educations, business support and entrepreneurship. House of Industry will be the meeting place for research, development, education, advice and industry and foster co-operation between students, entrepreneurs and established companies.
